Meet Our Diamond Creek Team
Asela graduated from the University of Auckland in 2009. Since graduating he has worked in private practice in both New Zealand and Australia. He joined Diamond Valley Optical in 2017 and is now the principal optometrist at the practice.
He has a keen interest in managing acute red eyes. He also co-manages number of Glaucoma patients. Asela has an extensive knowledge in complex contact lens fits including Keratoconus, corneal grafts and OrthoK. He is also a behavioural optometrist and practice full scope children’s vision checks.
He is a member of Optometry Association of Australia (OAA), Australian Collage of Behavioural Optometrists (ACBO) and Orthokeratology Society of Oceania (OSO). He is also a regular contributor to the final year Optometry training program at the University of Melbourne. He has volunteered for charitable missions in the past run by optometry giving sight & Lions club.
When he is not at the practice he is a family man and has two children. Caring for the sight of people is a rewarding experience with enormous satisfaction. He always strives for excellence and a holistic approach to eye care.
Nhi is a 3rd year optometry student at the University of Melbourne & she’s been with the practice for over 2 years now. You’ll be sure to run into her if you visit the practice over the weekend. She can help you with your optometry related queries and have you walking out the practice with a great new look. She will be a fantastic optometrist one day.
Shaylan is our newest optical assistant. She doesn’t come from an optical background, but she was a very quick & keen learner. It didn’t take long for her to build a good repo with our regular clients. She prides herself with great customer service and empathy to our clients needs. She is also a volunteer at the local red cross, so be sure to say hi if you see her in one.
Jo is our trusted Optical Dispenser. She has over 8 years of experience in the industry. She has a very simple and modest approach to choosing your next pair of glasses. She prides herself with customer service and a can do attitude. Jo also does our contact lens teachings at the practice. She wearing contact lenses herself is a great advocate for them proving contact lenses can be an option to people of all ages and all walks of life. She is a mother of two.
Tanya is an Optical Dispenser & has over 15 years of experience in the industry. She joined the practice in 2017 & is currently the practice manager. Tanya is responsible for all the quality brands we stock at the practice. She would have personally handpicked every frame that is on display. She also keep up with all the cutting edge lens technology to service the many needs of our patients. So if you have a query about a frame or a lens, then she is the best person to talk to. Tanya also runs all the day to day aspects of the business. She is a proud local in the area and mother to two daughters.
